Having spent most of the day on the telephone to all and sundry, it is still far form clear who will be broadcasting the match. It is likely to be shown inside Zimbabwe and it is being claimed by several sources that ESPN will be covering it, although in which regions is anyone's guess.
We have still not got any response from Zimbabwe's Information ministry and so cannot get anyone into the country. Few foreign journalists are there but, rest assured, we are doing all we can to resolve the mess.
When all is said and done, the only people who can take action here are the ICC executive board which consists primarily of the heads of the ten Full Member countries. They are unlikely to do a thing as they look after their own with admirable loyalty, so don't expect the situation to get any better.
There is a chance that the third and fourth matches might be on TV. Don't put your house on it, however.

Why change Tapash for Sharif ? are we giving people chance to 12th Man - My serious concern is over Mehrab. Sharif of old did quite well in these conditions. And his meant to be a good feilder as well.

According to Prothom Alo, Bangladesh will play the same eleven. Sharif is replaced by Tapash because of some soreness in his hand.

Bashar also gave credit to the way his side batted. "260 as a target is generally a good score when it comes to an ODI on any wicket.... cricinfo
|
I don't know. 260 shouldn't be a good score... a score that will give the bowler a chance...but not a good score.
A target of close to 280+ should be a good score.

i agree, but on this wicket, 260 might have challenged even a decent side.
bear in mind that mash, rafiq, mushy combined for 5 runs or so. we should have easily posted 280, and would have done well to get 300 odd.
but a wet wicket is generally not batting friendly, AFAIK

I am not sure about that....it was too late in the innings for Rafiq/Mashrafee/Rahim to make a big difference.
Mashrafee, Rafiq, Rahim, Razzak and Shahadat combined batted only 12 balls total around the last three overs of the innings(from 47.1 overs to 50 overs) and scored 6 runs. Even if they score 6-8 more runs it would be less than 270 runs .... forget about close to 300.

hey
so is it confirmed yet tht BTV will show the match? If it does then thts a terrific news and could u plz tell me on which site could i watch BTV? well if it doesnt then definately thts soring...btw..whts the point of changing twelve men? i think they r going to give tamim iqbal a chane if mehrab fails in this match as well....seems like shahriar nafees is gettin over confident with his batting against the zimbos...hope he doest go down the drain like the other so called potential batsmen tht BD has/had in the past...he should get more serious abt batting and should get some decent scores in his bag in this series...

they could have scored 20 runs from the last 12 balls which would get us to 280...
if ash and saqib hit out some more then they could have gotten to 300

Actually 20 runs (minus 6 runs that they scored) from 12 balls makes makes it 274 not 280.

Very well, scoring 26 runs off last two overs isn't asking too much, is it? Our main tailender hitters Rafique and Mash could have done the job. This is Zimbabwe after all.

We've been getting all we wanted from Mash in the last few overs. He has single-handedly won us a few matches with his slogging as a tail-ender. And on a good day, when the team total was 250+, I see no reason why Mash should be giving his life for another 20/30 runs. I would rather have him stay focused and bowl better. Same goes for Rafiq...except that he's been a no-show with the bat lately.

I think the lower order started to relax a bit in the end because we had scored enough to defend. Though I doubt Masri would take that risk. He's a responsible player, and he remembers what happened in the last tour and has been proving himself ever since. Regardless, this is the last opporunity for our hitters to open their arms and prepare for the WC. God knows, we're gonna need it.
