Congrats Taijul Islam. Highest wicket taker (amongst Slow left arm spinners) in the world - last 12 months.

He is also ranked 4th in most wickets in tests for 2018. Next test he can even become top for the year even if it's temporary.

Shhh, don't hype him too much or Papon will force him into the ODI side.

So far this year Taijul is one of the top 5 wicket-takers in test cricket while playing the least amount of games than the rest. He can become top after the next match even if it's temporary.

Tough for any BD bowler or batsman for that matter to really become a top top player because lack of test matches in general but also in away conditions means they just don’t get as many opportunities to develop their game for various conditions and prove themselves. Take kohli for example in England and tests, completely failed his first tour, fortunately got a second tour to prove himself again but a BD player might not get that 2nd opportunity.

Taijul had a good year. I respectfully submit that the best SLA in the world is Rangana Herath. It's simply unfair to attach such a tag on a young bowler like Taijul. He's a good spinner, but to be great one, he needs to show adaptability and the ability to learn. His greatness can be judged when he has played 50 test matches, for example.

Taijul is currently the best fielder in the team (Not sure even Sabbir/Nasir will be able to beat that catch he took of Taylor in second match)

Herath has now retired so technically he isn’t considered the best in the world even though his last match was recent.

I rate Keshav Maharaj from South Africa as the best SLA. Jadeja and Taijul are home pitch bullies.
