How to beat Sangakarra ?

At first it's Koheli, then Afridi & for sure the next match will be Sangakarra as usual.
These big names always get the better of us.
I think Mushy,senior players & coach need to have a special plan only for Sangakarra(maybe they do) ,
Sanga is in superman form .

As we have seen without Sanga the rest of the Lankan batting isn't that threatening.
If we can get him out then may be we will avoid chasing 300+ or will be able to defend 260+
Sangakarra might also be rested but that's a different thing.
And also Al-Amin is a must, he got Sanga out twice facing him in 2 tests & one ODI.

what do you guys think? how to dismiss this scholar?

Sanga might not even play, might be rested.

Sanga is a class act one of my fav cricketer. If he does play we can hope he has a bad day otherwise another ton is coming against us.

Doesn't matter if we get Sanga out for 0. Ajantha Mendis will score a 100 and win them the game. We are making it a habit of losing from winning position.

A far more useful question will be "how do WE beat Sangakkara?". He stays intensely focused and plays each ball according to its unique merit, and is very difficult to remove by anyone. The strategy and tactics a team like Australia or South Africa or England can deploy won't do us any good, especially on our flat tracks. We don't have the bowlers capable of consistently bowling in the right areas to get him out of his groove and bog him down. The lack of aggressive field setting denying him effortless singles is another issue. So the short answer is, "we won't until he decides to beat himself". Unfortunately for us, life ain't EA Sports cricket. So I say pray for divine intervention, bearing in mind that GOD rarely helps those who don't help themselves.

Afghan bowlers didn't allow him to score freely. Our bowlers should watch that match video

Watching match videos of Afghans or Australians help only when our bowlers are capable of bowling with that kind of discipline or venom. Instead we have Rex and others bowling boundary balls and Mushfiq happily conceding easy singles to sustain his rhythm.

Doesn't really matter... didn't we just have Srilanka at 87-7 few days back and still ended up loosing the match?

Our bowling and captaincy has been consistently poor; need fundamental change in approach in those areas.
