Sponsorship issue: Sahara

I was thinking along the same line when Shakib was banned for three matches. If the players are to be expected to behave in an absolute ethical and moral standard (at least publicly), should our sponsors also not, or the ppl who are selecting the sponsors? I know that Sahara was also the sponsor of the Team India. At least Grameen, our previous sponsor, has better global stand.

What kind of company are we promoting? Should we not call BCB to change the sponsor? or should the low moral standard of our political master of cricket (i.e. Papon) be the new benchmark for all involved in cricket ?

I think the other aspect of it is in cricket (chose any country), money talks.

So it also depend on the following:

"Financially do we have a better alternative?" i.e. "If we can get rid of current contract using any clause loop hole, will BCB be able to get a similar or better contract (financially speaking)?"

btw, they should lease the name of the different stadiums to commercial identities. Like Grameen Phone Staium, Gazi Tank Stadium, beximco Stadium, etc.

Sahara has 6 letters

Bangladesh has 10

both has the same space on the jersey..thats why sahara font in bigger as it takes less space then Bangladesh

Sahara paid 1 Billion Taka (100 Crore) for 4 years I think. I don't think anyone beating that amount.

BCB is full of corrupt and power-hungry party loyalists, thus, lack or absence of ethical and moral standards is no surprise!

BCB has no interests or even power to cut tie with Sahara IMO. It might be interesting to see if Bangladesh Govt. take steps to cancel the sponsorship contact on moral ground or not. I doubt though.

BCB bigwigs are unlikely to return the money they've been paid, and their may be other contractual complications folks have to deal with in the real world. Righteous indignation isn't enough.

But we are not 'Sahara Bangladesh'. None of india, pakistan, srilanka have such sponsor logo in front or top of their country name in the shirt. Even Afganistan have a small square shaped logo.

I guess its Dholma Srilanka and Sahara India

The more money they give you, the bigger the logo. It's relative though. What is a lot to us may not be a lot to India.
