It could be all over for Ganguly
Daily Star
The selectors who picked Ganguly all got Fired. Now i think his chances for getting picked in the upcoming Test squad is slim to none.
IMHO: He should get picked for this upcoming Test, cause he atleast deserves the chance to prove himself. If he does play i hope he gets a century so this soap-opera can continue.

Well ,could be.
But i do not think it will be.
If he scores centuries in domestic and India fails against opponents like Pakistan, Australia, England and matches abroad_ then anything can happen.

Well any player who got more than 10,000 runs is a good cricketer.. He has atleast 3 to 4 years.. of game.. he is only 33.. but I think he should be rotated wisely.. than keeping out of games.. when he gets good form.. take him to play cricket.. and when he is out of form ask him to go and play domestic cricket.
He should be selected to play against Pakistan and Asia Cup..
You might ask who should be replaced in team.. Well i think he is better than the new guys in the team..if it playing in India then its okay to give him rest or ask him to play domestic cricket..
To play outside India you need good players and also experienced cricketers

well he is a good player definately. But I am not sure how much cricket is left on him. He can still play spinners really well. So maybe they should pick him when they are playing test in the subcontinent. But against quality opposition like Aus, Eng or SA in their home, forget about it.......

Ice is broken.
Ganguly is working hard. Greg is professional, thick skin.
The way Habhajan, Shewag got going with Greg, anything can happen.

Chappel has done a good job so far.
Saurav definitely deserves a place on ODI and Test sqauad, because he has got fighing spirit.
It may not be apparent right now as India is doing well, but against Pakistan, England and Australia and particularly aboroad his presence might be very useful.
Being in 15 does not mean he would have to play in everyc match: Chappel will rest and rorate players in order to build a team for the coming years.
It is clear that under changed scenario, Chappel is the boss. Under the circumstances, Dravid is the right Captain as he is more accomodative. Saurav had run the show for last 5 years and it was difficult for him to accept Chappel's bossism to start with.
But now, it is heartening to see Saurav start to get along nicely with Chappel. It is good for India.

Plus the "bari" he endured when bowling!
If he is dropped, I'll dearly miss the sadistic pleasure of seeig him fail miserably ... :P
(yeah, I know I am a bad person. No need to point that out )

Gangu is dropped and it's unjustified. He scored 40 and 39 in the Test and he had a Key Partner ship with Tendu that went for 121 when India could of been in trouble and a Patrnership of 81 with Yuvraj Singh that gave India a 330+ lead .

I can understand why he is dropped. The way he played wasnt that elegent and very much boring. Second thing is Yuvraj did better than him in this test and when sehwag comes back, one of them had to go. So they stick to Yuvraj as they are looking forward.
However, I believe he deserved a better ending. They shouldnt have dropped him and let him retire with respect. He has done so much for Indian cricket.

kind of ironic, he held his place for such a long time without performing. now he is dropped when he actually performed.
but if u think about it, it was not unjustified decision. there are too many middle order players, yuvraj and kaif , they have to be given enough chances. if gangu was a test opener, it could be easier for him to get into the team, but he never opened in tests. actually he set a bad example, he always came to open in one dayers, no worry for bouncers, get easy runs in 1st 15 overs, loads of 50s and 100s. but when it comes to test matches, he dropped himself back to save himself from short bowling.
