Default Bangladesh Election 2007

This is an old thread. Just revived it with new poll options. Lets see how it goes. I have edited the original thread starting post to remove confusion.

Vote here even if you won't be physically voting in Election 2007. This will give eveyone an idea where we are headed. Your votes are hidden and no one will know your political affiliation.

==================

Hey guys, isn't 2005 the last year of Khaleda Zia? That means, the Bangladesh election is on the 2005, right? Who'll gonna win this time, BNP or Awami League? I don't know nothing about bd's election.

BNP=AL, does not make a difference

if u don't know anything about bd's election (ie politics and leaders) read this, u'll have a very clear understanding:

TRADITIONAL ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You sell one and buy a bull.
Your herd multiplies and the economy grows.
You retire on the income.

INDIAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You worship them.

PAKISTAN ECONOMICS
You don't have any cows.
You claim that the Indian cows belong to you. You ask
the US for financial
aid, China for military aid, British for warplanes,
Italy for machines,
Germany for technology, French for submarines,
Switzerland for loans,
Russia for drugs and Japan for equipment.

You buy the cows with all this and claim exploitation
by the world.

AMERICAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You sell one and force the other to produce the milk
of four cows.

You profess surprise when the cow drops dead. You put
the blame on some nation with cows and naturally that
nation will be a danger to mankind.
You wage a war to save the world and grab the cows.

FRENCH ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You go on strike because you want three cows.

GERMAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You re-engineer them so that they live for 100 years,
eat once a month and milk themselves.

BRITISH ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
They are both mad cows.

ITALIAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You don't know where they are.
You break for lunch.

SWISS ECONOMICS
You have 5000 cows, none of which belong to you.
You charge others for storing them.

JAPANESE ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You redesign them so that they are one-tenth the size
of an ordinary cow and produce twenty times the milk.
You then create cute cartoon cow images called
Cowkimon and market them worldwide.

RUSSIAN ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
you count them and learn you have five cows.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
You count them again and learn you have 17 cows.
You give up counting and open another bottle of vodka.

CHINESE ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You have 300 people milking them.
You claim full employment, high bovine productivity
and arrest anyone reporting the actual numbers.

BANGLADESH ECONOMICS
You have two cows.
You don't know economy.
You choose one of them as the Prime Minister of the
country and the other as the Leader of the Opposition.

Bangladesh's next election is scheduled for 2007. This govt. took power on Oct 2001. Term ends on Oct 2006. Next election on early 2007.

Thanks for reviving it. I thought I would request if it is alright to make such a poll on BC threads.

We have two votes each for BNP and AL, no wonder these idiots come to power alternatively since we have educated people rooting for them even after knowing fully well about their antics. I can guess who voted for the BAL party,an apt abbreviation for Awami League. I myself have chosen LDP because I want to give them a chance to see if they are all talk or if they are actually serious about their agenda. If they are then Bangladesh might find a solution to its politics provided people can think for themselves and vote for them instead of going for BNP or BAL. HOwever KNowing the mentality of Bangalis I doubt if that will happen and maybe this poll will show why I think this way.

LDP will lose the sympathy of many people after they are forming coaltion with Islami Oikko Jote (Shaikhul Hadis group) as they are linked with some suspected terrorism.

We should vote other than BAL and BNP even if the others are not up to our expectation. Atleast we should make Khaleda/Hasina understand that the country is not their "baper/samir sompotti".

seems like only 21 people from the BC forum who visit forget cricket are intrested about the 2007 election and to gauge the result in a poll in BC !!!Quite ourageous if you ask me since we have lively discussions regarding most topics including politics and election but when it comes to exercising their choice most seem uninterested. I wonder why.

Rag korben na. First four options are worthless. The fifth one would vary upon the candidates. The sixth one implies "shubidha badi". Therefore, the best option is not to participate (At least that what my heart tells me).

I think colonel Oli is one of the very few honest politicians of ffice:smarttags" />Bangladesh. I trust him. But i'll b really disappointed if they formed a coalition with any other party, specially any islamic ones. we BD people r tired of BNP and AL. we also have seen what partially islamic gov could give us. we want some1 uncompromising about their principle. if LDP participates on their own we might see huge surprise in this comming election. I am definitely not saying they r gonna win the elction. but they will capture some very important seats, where people are some what educated and aware of pol situations. i would have definitely voted for them if they participated on their own. but if i did not have any choice other then BNP and AL. i would go for AL. I'll pick corruption over islamic militants any given day.fficeffice" />

LDP has not formed an alliance with any islamic party. That is pure conjecture and allegations. The party in question islmi oikyo jote is part of the BAL alliance. As far as newsreports go LDP is on its own. Please do not get the wrong notions.

Just out of curiosity, Why do u think all the first four options are useless? Agreed we have seen three of the four indulge in misrules but why do u feel LDP is useless as well? I would love to hear your logic behind that since we have not yet seen them govern as an independent party. HOwever one can always argue that they were part of another parties misrule but I would say that they had the guts to oppose the wrongdoings. Col. Oli was always vocal against BNP corruption even while he was in Bnp. Mr.Mannan could have stayed with BNP and gotten a lot of favours done for his business had he wanted to but he chose to resign knowing fully well his business and himself would be targeted. I dont think there is any reason to doubt their integrity. I dont know much about the others in the party so cant comment about them.
