Talking Let the BC War start

For a better and more democratic BC.

The moderators has always been the arch-enemy of ordinary members. Now it seems that we've reached a breakdown point. We have few more weeks before cricket starts again. We need to use this opportunity. Everyone try to piss off the moderators as much as possible. Eventually they'll get bored and some of them won't want to be mod anymore. In the end, only the more tolerant mods will survive and we'll see major changes in the rules of forum and moderation.

Or, they will start banning the pesky little buggers, starting with you. Eventually there won't be any nuisance left anymore. In the end, only the more decent members will survive, we'll see strict obedience to the forum/moderation rules, and find peace.

A better way to fight would be make a poll thread with the mods in question and the members can vote for and against the mods. Whatever the result the other party would accept graciously. However, what happens if the poll shows a no confidence towards certain mods ? Will he step down with dignity or fight back and show that the moderator position is his for keeps ? What will the owners of the site do in that situation? Quite an explosive situation if you ask me where you might have people taking extreme decisions from both sides.

This is not gonna happen. In all honesty this is their site and they can choose to do whatever they like to do. People are acting as if its heir property and talking about democracy. this is not public property guys this is private property and they have the right to exclude

Well obviously the posters on this thread have not yet been excluded otherwise they would not be able to post here. So that means they have the right to post what they did. As long as the members have the right to post and open thread you will see these things. If they want to exclude someone they can just ban the person. However if you have irrational people running the show( note I am not implying that the people running this wonderful forum are irrational) then very soon this would be a forum with them and their friends only. There has to be some degree of freedom of speech which thankfully still exists but obviously has room to improve.

While this is more of a intellectual property, but in some way you are right.

I'm impressed. 9 replies within 1 hour is good for a start.

Real war will start soon

Actually this is no kind of property. Talk is valueless. And this is a fansite/fan-forum, which is not the best kind of forum/message board.

The admin/mods sometimes act like this is a holy place or something.

While the admins always try to say that there's more to this site than just the forum, this was/is/always will be a forum centric site. Most of the people came here for the forum in the first place. Except few notable exceptions (the article on Mirpur stadium, interview of U-19 coach for example), most of the articles of this site is just boring drone of fans. Most of the info/stats that is available here can also be found elsewhere.

The forum has very high moderators to member ratio. The rules page looks like a software EULA. To make the forum better, the first step should be reducing the number of moderators (with open poll), and then simplification of the forum rules.

I don't know. But take a look here and it seems this website falls in this category.

But it's definitely not a public or private property which is tangible and something you can trespass on.

I agree with Spitfire on the ridiculous number of mods. Though most of them are cool and harmless. Some like renausagi dont even show up.

I dont think it's necessary to reduce mod number but rather to calm them down and give them a chill pill.

A few people here need to get better hobbies. Some of you seem to be snowed in and stuck in a basement somewhere with nothing else to do.

True. In Spitty case, he might have been "hartalled" in.

Hmm of all the posters in this thread I am the only one who has a likely chance of getting snowed in because of my location, for everyone else it is not a possibility. So assuming you are talking about me I live on the 7th floor of a 15 floor apartment building. I dont think I can be snowed in here. Moreover it's right in the middle of downtown and even the road infront of my apartment is always cleared up with salt. So you need to recharge your "assumption batteries".
