Need batting and bowling coach to be competitive
Question : Why we don't have bowling & batting coach for our team?
There was a moment of 48/4 for Sri Lanka yesterday, then a 280 partnership between Dilshan and Samaraweera with a strike rate around 5 says a lot about our bowling strength in a test match. It's not because of inexperience of our young bowlers, not because of spinners failure, not because of pitch and also not because of Dilshan & Samaraweera are SUPER player. It's simply because of our inability to bowl tight and steady. 7 wicket from a team like Sri Lanka at the end of 1st day wouldn't be that bad, but 449 runs from 90 overs at the rate almost 5 says we need BOWLING coach. There is no way we can compete or even avoid innings defeat UNLESS we improve in bowling.
On the other hand we saw couple of centuries from our team in PAK and WI series and in that time we had a batting coach from Sri Lanka as far I can remember. We had couple of players who can play 50+ innings in a test match even including our famous low order. Since then there is no sign of long innings in a test from any of our player except some occasional spark here and there. Rather our whole team become more inconsistent on batting and cant even imagine of a 200 innings in a test match these days! How come we expect to be competitive in a test match with strong team if we cant score even 200 in an innings consistently?
Now why we don't have bowling & batting coach for our team? Is it because of money problem? or our high profile coach getting too much money that BCB cant afford those bowling and batting coach?
No matter how many times our coach and BCB says that we are improving, but the reality is since our team is a very young and inexperienced, we will not improve until we have bowling and batting coach for our team. That PAK, WI and ZIM tour proved that we can improve, if we have batting and bowling coach.
Lets think about realistically and share your thoughts please.

I completely agree with you. even I would suggest a coach who has more experiences in test matches (of course with good record). I think DW is a good coach for those whom had some experiences and some established good players (like the previous SL team). DW I do not think that he will be able to provide good suggestions to our batsman or even to our bowlers. We need someone like Wasim Akram/ Miandad a specialist cricketer rather then a specialist coach (DW)

Our batsmen simply cannot stay at the crease long enough. In this innings we are failing to stick around for even 50 overs. We basically lack the temperament to build an innings and of course our glaring technical deficiencies don't help either. Look at the way Bashar, Aftab and Ashraful played. When will this end?

That's why we need a batting coach, who can teach them hand to hand which ball to play and which one to leave, according to the innings situation. We need someone specialist as shaheen suggested who can teach them how to build a partnership and why it so important in test, put a value on every wicket etc. We lost our usual tail batting ability these days, which is also very important for a team like BD.
Dav seems not enough with batting and bowling coach for our team. We desperately need something to do on this regard I think.

Deshi or Bedeshi? Or is this 'maal' that maal that I am thinking of? Too much thinking of 'maal' is definitely distracting, we need to find them some girl friends then.

completely agree with ya guys...
remember the other day ponting said how he was amazed with the manpower of the english team regarding their ashes win..they had a personnel in every place they needed..specialised everything...
we should have even a specialised drinks runner..someone like rokon or tushar ....the performers at the warm up matches but not on the real games...
on a serious note..we need a battin bowlin fieldin n more specially a psychriatist..to mentally strengthen our players
see what our beloved "Cricket Bangladesh" does..
isnt that the new name for bcb ??

Yeah, steve Waugh will be great, or anyone who is a batting specialist, or a batting legend can do a lot of improvement with our young players. It may cost us couple thousand dollars every month at most, so why not we try and work on it? I dont see any other choice but improve our batting by any cost! We are consistantly failing to play through 50 overs and score mere 200 runs in test and ODI! There is no way to set back and hope our player will de better in next series.
