Yes, you've got reasons to be happy. But this is 1) Your first victory in the tourney.
2) It was not the best performance. Half the team clicked, 4 pacers and two batsmen. Half the team did not!
3) You did not qualify for the semis. That depends on tomorrow's match.
|
Some fans are probably doing laps of honour around their office and you are complaining about the players

We can do it. Cricket ain't our job. We are fans who celebrate from afar. But to the players, it is their job. There is thing thing called professionalism.

It's targeted towards the fans that turned up to the game, as a gesture of gratitude. They were extremely vocal and didn't walk out on the tigers. And I think it was really good of them to do so.

Professionalism is how Shakib & Mullah batted today. It has very little to do with victory celebration.

First, I took the day off to watch this game.
When BD were 33/4, I went to take a nap with a little belief that I wud see Mullah bat like WC'15.
When I woke up, BD were 100/4 and Shak-Mullah were batting. I was like The game is on. Oh well! I had to leave at the end of 40th over to pray Jummah. The timing was like when I wud come back, the match wud just end. So, I said only one dua in my monajat and hurried back home.
I turned on the game and Mullah just hit the boundary to get his 100. And then this historic win!
Hats off to Shakib and Riyad. Credit goes to BD bowlers. Hopefully, BD can put up this kind of performance more often and AUS loses tomorrow.

If bangladesh do go home, it was a way to thank the fans for their support
You didn't see them jump around and celebrate like they've won the competition did you, they simply showed appreciation to their fans

Austin takes part in harmless, lighthearted banters, I am sure he doesn't mean anything bad, anyways this is not the right thread to discuss about that and I am still in awe of that Shak-Riyad partnership so wont drag this any further, cheers
