Hate? Isn't that the purpose of this thread? BC is too tame sometimes and seeing that this thread is hate, I think I'm entitled to one hate filled post or two.

Besides, It's my term final. Nerves are frayed as it is.

No offence meant Orphy. You lead your life and I lead mine. Just like my opinion shouldn't count on your life, your opinion too is immaterial in my life. But there it is.

BTW, If I think our culture is what my family taught me, than yes, to me bangali culture is what goes around in my immediate family. But that's a debate for another time and place, where hate is not so prevalent.

Listen you should be the last person to talk like that. Internet is for your generation. "Internet" is not just internet anymore.. it is one of the most powerful social medium and an integral part of our daily lives. One doesn't have to be face to face with another in order to have strong emotions.

I will give you an example, there are people that I have never met in my life whom I interact frequently via emails. They are in positions where they can flip my life upside down many times over if they feel they do not like the tone of my text.

This is serious stuff. Don't take it lightly.

In corporate world, majority of your communications happen believe it or not happen via some sort of electronic media (mostly emails). The things that you post in your facebook can come to hurt you later in life or during... sure it is just the internet. This is one of the reason why I don't have a facebook account because it feels "too internet" to me. Don't you wanna be priminister of Bangladesh one day Antora? See if you have goals like that in life, you should be careful with using just the "internet". Things that you say here (jokingly or not) will be used against you by Khaleda Ziar nati. So take this seriously!!

btw having said that, I don't like you at all Antora. In fact I can't stand your posts. I think you are too immature and act annoyingly childish for your age. I don't think your age excuses you from the way you carry yourself here.. soon you will be in college - but none of your posts I ever read have any substance whatsoever or even a remote semblance of intelligence in them.

It's just the internet, don't take me seriously antora....
I am just an unknown face on net that see through textssss!! what the hell do I know.

Now, can I assume Antora got grown up 1 year older than she is? ... after that lecture?? was a good one though. Perhaps she just wanted to contribute in this thread ... and got contributed in return, not bad for growing up I guess.

1 year older? I hardly doubt that. Besides, that would make her what 10 right?

But enough to dislike. "hate" is being thrown around here for no reason. I knew people would do that - that's why my first post had the word "favorite"

Its easier to be an asshole to words than to people.

Not relevant to anything antora said. Working for someone (whether political or professional) is not the same as being a dick to someone anonymously online whom you have never met or known nothing about other than what he/she told you about themselves.

Either way, I don't hate you or dislike you. You are no more or less annoying than 1000s of trolls just like you. That doesn't mean I don't care less to point that out.

Ofcourse it doesn't seem relevant to you because wikipedia dont teach you to think. You obviously missed the point. I was talking about internet in general and how you use it can have consequences - so it is not "just internet" and should be taken seriously. Majority of people here are not annonymous (besides you or u think with that handle of yours) - and it wouldn't take more than a minute to find out who anyone is should the need arise. Hence my point to Antora was when you strive for something like being a political figure or getting a job that deals with people - people will loook for you and search for you. And that is why one should take internet seriously.
Also my point was physical presence is not a pre-req for serious communications.
i will be d*** to someone face to face if some of these online behaviors are shown in real life. A case in point, Mr shhardul - the amount of whining that he does here - if he did in a group - you can be certain a lot of people will "D***" to him. Also he is using his own name here along with a big full frontal face of him here. Kichu kichu jinish sha past e likheche kichu kichu jaati/dhormo/subject niye - ogulo jodi kew pore (ie hiring manager) - taake kokhonoi hire korbe na. And sha complain kore sha onek smart kintu job recruiter taake like kore na. So he should consider himself fortunate that many (not all) of those posts were deleted. Moderators in this forum in many ways are helping you actually.

Anyways, I shouldn't have to explain this to you (another thing I wouldn't do in "real life" ) because you simply just missed the message.

Orphy's points regarding the tracks you leave online are quite valid -- even leaving aside political careers, the "vetting" required for many high-level strategic positions in companies and even non-profit organizations often involve fairly deep background checks. And your comments on different boards (even under aliases), your profiles on social networking sites like Facebook, etc., are particularly germane; no corporation/organization wants to be embarassed by a scandal, say, about something one of their executives had said in the past.

For that matter, I gather that even going out with a boy or girl nowadays involve googling the potential date beforehand.

Indeed. You can lose your job as well if you are not careful with what you post.
