^U still want Mullah? Take him out add Sarkar but down the order, as we don't want 5lefties in top 5 against Ashwin. Then your XI isn't bad.
Does anyone else realise we have 4/5 lefties in the top half facing Ashwin? We need to mix it up, Mushy at 5, Sakib 6th. Kick Mullah out Nasir or Sabbir at 4.

Why only one test match? It is difficult to select team just for one match..

He did well against India when? Back in 2010?
Instead of looking at one off series, look at overall trend of his career - he simply failed to improve in Test cricket from the period when we would be satisfied with a batsman with 30 average. There is nothing to suggest that trend will suddenly change.
It's long overdue that we stop wasting Test matches on him and start grooming another specialist batsman in this format.

^^ Rifat, I think you are getting little carried away with Nasir's double century. Mosaddek, Liton, Rony, etc have multiple of those double centuries in NCL, yet struggled in international cricket.
He probably has done enough to get a recall to the squad. I will still like to see some more achievements from him before considering him a mainstay of the team again.

Riyad has only played 2 tests against India in his whole career and that was back in 2010, granted he averages 61 with 2 50s, you can't use that reasoning to say he is good against India lol.

I really think Abu hider and Mohammad saifuddin should be in consideration. I don't have any problem with the other fast bowlers named but is babu really a better prospect than hider as a bowler? And is he really better than saifuddin as an all rounder?
As far as shahid is he still injured? Because it looks like a lot of other pacers have really jumped over him in the queue.

Saiffudin is years away being from ready
Hider needs more time too
Shahid is still our best test seamer, can bowl line and length for long spells, if only we had better fielders, I've seen 4 drops off his short career

if Mohammad Shahid not available then Kamrul has done enough to be persisted with. so has Soumya Sarkar.

Hider did much better in the recent FC games...but guys like kamrul, subashis, ebadat and babu can't be in consideration and then you say hider and saifuddin can't be. That's the main issue here, hider should definitely be ahead of ebadat and babu and he really should've been ahead of subashis and even kamrul, just because kamrul has done ok this test match doesn't mean hider didn't warrant selection ahead of him, it just means kamrul justified his own selection (which is obviously a good thing).
On shahid, he may still be injured but they could've just as easily dumped him, average of 57 and only 5 wickets in his 5 matches, add that Walsh seems to be picking on what he's seen rather than stats so with shahid being injured or coming back from injury he may not of impressed Walsh. I do think shahid very much has a place in the squad, he certainly did a better job than a lot that came before him but he by no means solidified his position in the team.

I was talking about within team
Roy has performed for years
Rabbi ok..hider should have been ahead of him, but rabbi has taken his chance
You must joking if you think Saiffudin should be in contention, at this moment farhad Reza is better
Shahid should have had twice the wickets if we could catch, his ability is clear to see

saifuddin not that great, I was very excited to see him BPL, decent batsmen but He may end up taking Farhad Reza's role once Reza retires. I would give him another couple of seasons to prove himself in domestics. fairly young kid. nothing exceptional about his bowling.

I'm not saying saifuddin should be in the team, I'm saying if babu (as well as others) is in consideration then saifuddin should be...neither should be near team at this point. Babu as well as others are in the prelim squad, I'm simply saying if they are then why aren't saifuddin and hider.

If I remember correctly, Babu impressed coaches in the HP camp last summer.
As for Saifuddin, his bowling action came under question during BPL. Think he still has lot of improvements to make before he may come under serious considerations.

Hi,
I honestly don't know why people underestimate Jadeja so much, he may not have the skill and variations of Ashwin but with pinpoint accuracy and tight length he is one of the best we have, he made a bunny out of Amla and Cook in the past,in non responsive flat pitches he is more lethal than Ashwin and certainly a better limited over bowler than him.
However I feel India will rest Aswin, Kohli and some other big names for this test, but you have to play out of your skin to beat even India A in India, our reserve bench is just too good. It would be really great if we had managed to arrange a few odi and t20s since Bangladesh is much more competitive in limited overs, that being said I am really admiring the way BD is playing against NZ though. You deserved to win the 1st test, hope you do that in this one, my best wishes.
Regards
Roy

I hope we get India in a sporting pitch without Kohli and ashwin

Hi,
Last time we made turners was against South Africa, our batting is enough to outbat any team, you don't have to worry about the pitch, Hyderabad will be sporting enough to produce result, I would love to see a Kohli Musta duel, however he will most probably be rested. I hope to see Pant in our squad, an aggressive, young WK batsmen and Kuldeep Yadav too , a very promising chinaman bowler.

How is Pant's wicket keeping ? I keep hearing about how great a batsman he is, no one talks about the most important stuff, his keeping.
forget his batting, with his keeping alone dhoni got us wkts out of nowhere, almost one every match. we have enough batters, but the replacement keeper has to be as good.
