So inter-related, all the session clearing and good works done by past years gets wiped out whenever a particular party takes the power. The back stabbing tendency of our student organizations has become so habitual that the difference between crime done by a regular un-educated person and a literate progressive youth is completely unclear.

Is this just our self-destructive characteristics that pull us down after so many years of independence? Are we free at all or colonized in our own domain?

That statement from our minister pretty much sums up everything about our politics. Its always the innocent and poor ones that end up suffering.

Yeah, so much of a proud nation of student politics! My foot.

No independent nation on earth needed such student politics, but we the brilliant and proud nation still believes its a democratic right totally ignoring loss of lives, times and suffering of nearly 99% percent innocent students. Yet our stone-age politicians holding hostage these 99% students and their parents only to protect their evil power and earning bread.

Anyone who still support student or teachers politics in BD [after decades of misery] ... they are always a 'Big Liar' in my book, because either they lying knowingly or they ignoring the harsh reality.

Sentenced should have stopped there.

I am all for capital punishment for these thugs. Even will support cross-firing getting them rid of without trial. Human rights my foot.

She is nothing just an old lady and was gifted the position of home ministry due to close relation with Hasina as well as for helping as lawyer during caretaker govt.she owns local godfather. On many occasions she can be seen attending marriage/other ceremony of these godfathers. one of these groups helped during election and made the way easy to be elected as MP.well she isn't that much dangerous like MP Nasim who used to handle these godfathers for his own sake but this lady is also guilty for null activity. remember what happened in BDR last year? some untold incidents occurred due to lack of steps was supposed to be taken by her as Home Minister. Moreover Shohel Taz opposed to do his own duty. Now local AL leaders are not afraid of law and order.

seriously, some more terrible incidents will be occurring till next election. this is the fact of political govt in BD.

.....You know, It kind of baffles me to see that most of you folks(grown ups to enjoy cricket) seem to be upset about the graphics nature of the pictures shown here,(appropriate in my book) instead of expressing sincere concern and outrage about these heinous crime commented at our national institutes. As far as I am concerned, these Jamati demonic entities and their evil deeds being perpetrated in the name of Islam should be stopped at any cost.

Can't believe this is happening. It's like the dark ages all over again.

Last night, in revenge of Rajshahi atrocity, the Terrorists of Chatra League burnt down the notebooks and PC of a few Shibir students here in BUET, right before thwe term final. They even desecrated the Holy Qur'an in possession of the said student. Why? What purpose could it possibly serve? Two wrongs makes the situation even worse.

To think once I thought BUET as a safe heaven of free minds. I'm feeling terribly unsafe in my Dorm now.

Why just jamatis? All violent acts by student bodies be is BCL, BCD or Shibir is condemnable.

Of late, Shibir haVe been acting very violently in RU though...

In general, the student wing of the ruling party gets support from the govt, this culture needs to stop. Now, is the time for BCL to set some examples, but they are failing horribly.

DU probing assault on college girl

Report likely today

Staff Correspondent
The Dhaka University authorities yesterday formed an investigation committee to probe an attack on a female student allegedly by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League of DU unit on Sunday.
DU proctor Dr KM Saiful Islam said, "A one-member investigation committee formed with assistant proctor M Amzad Ali is expected to submit its report by tomorrow [today]."
Witnesses said an altercation between the BCL activists and the girl and her guardians took place on February 21, the International Mother Language Day, when the students teased the girl in front of the residence of the vice chancellor of the university. At one stage, they beat up the girl and her guardians with hockey sticks and cricket stumps.

Update SOS:

1. Two journalists stabbed and critically injured by BCL students in RU
2. In sub-urban Dhaka a youth was attacked by local BCL gang in broad day light, he later released the names of the assailants to police before his last breath.
3. A Government official was assaulted with sharp objects and now fighting against death in nearby hospital only because he protested local BCL land grabbers attempting to capture a government owner land.

There has to be someone who has the power to stop these affairs with his(their) hands but is keeping silent. tolerating injustice is injustice itself, so you are committing injustice by keeping quiet when you have the power to do so.

We are the future of Bangladesh, these uneducated illeterate buffons are kicking the poor in the stomach literally and living in luxury. I say wherever we are currently we need to make some noise, later after our education we need to go back to our motherland and open our own party. I know we will start small, get less attention but it's a start. We Bangladeshis are known to be lazy but common if we join hands, we can stop these culprits, we need new political leaders, a new face, our future depends on us. I am definitely going back to Bangladesh after graduation, I hope you all do the same. I am chosing country before Luxury, life will be easier for me here but i know difficult time lies If I move in Bd, but I want to do something for my people.

InshaAllah we can do it. I have similar plans too Jesus87. Well, not necessarily of getting involved politically, but of going back nonetheless.
