I like this lineup, but switch Mossadek/Mullah for Nasir. I would also bat Mashrafe 7th. All he does is hack, so let him hack away early and hope we can get 30 or so out of him, then bring in someone a bit more sensible.

Mash will be suspended for the first ODI of the series - http://www.espncricinfo.com/banglade...y/1089643.html

Chance for Saifuddin to take his place (assuming Miraz will not be taken over there) for the match?

^^ Other option is to take Nasir as the 2nd spinner, since he does not depend on turn from the pitch as much. He was decent in two WC matches against Scotland and NZ.

A lot of ranking points to be gained from beating a weak new Zealand but a lot can be lost by slipping up against Ireland so got to make sure we cover ourselves there. If anything, Ireland will be the tougher opponent especially in their home conditions.

This will be hard due to the conditions. Even against Ireland, we will struggle to win. It will be interesting to see if Roy will be a part of the 11. I'm not a fan of Shabbir batting at #3. It should be Mushfiqur who bats there, and Shabbir should be back batting lower down the order where he is effective. This will be my XI: Tamim, Sarker, Mushfiqur, Mahmudullah, Shakib, Shabbir, Mosaddek, Mashrafe, Roy, Taskin and Fizz. We could go in with another spinner, but it all depends on the opposition and conditions. For example, Ireland are poor players of spin regardless of conditions.

Bangladesh to play two warm-up games in England

Quote:
Bangladesh will play two practice matches in England ahead of Ireland tri-nation series and ICC Champions Trophy 2017. The matches will be played during Tigers’ ten-day camp in Sussex.

Bangladesh will face Duke of Norfolk on May 3 in their first game. The second match will be against Sussex County Cricket Club on May 5.

“We will head for Ireland after practicing some more days in England. Then we will back again in England for Champions Trophy following the conclusion of the Tri-nation series,” said Bangladesh Cricket Board operations committee chairman Akram Khan at Mirpur.

“We will play two practice matches in England after going there. Those are confirmed and the teams have already been fixed.”

“Shakib and Mustafiz are now in India. As both of them are in games, they will join the team at the fag end of the England’s pre-conditioning camp,” he said.

Bangladesh will leave for United Kingdom on April 26 after playing few games of Dhaka Premier League. Some new faces will join the squad.

"We’re looking for experienced batsman"

Quote:
The selectors will keep a close eye on the ongoing Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League 2017 season. However, it was also learned that there will not be much changes in the squad.

According to sources, the team management is likely to add two or three more cricketers for the Ireland tour.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu, who went to watch a DPL game on Wednesday, informed that they are looking for an experienced batsman.

“We have two series on in a row and there is a possibility of injury. And more importantly, there will be some ups and downs in the performance of the players. We are keeping a close eye on the Dhaka league as we are looking for an experienced batsman. We want a bit of experience in those conditions,” Minhajul told the media at BKSP.

“On the other hand, it’s difficult for the youngsters to adapt to the conditions instantly. We are also willing to take one pacer and a batsman as back-up,” he said.

The Tigers team management had picked five pacers in the recently concluded tour of Sri Lanka. It was learned that the number of pacemen in the squad might increase to six.
Too bad, SN made a duck yesterday. Chance for Bijoy, Nasir, or Momin?

We won't go up to 6 even if we win all the matches but we be 2 points below SL but realistically I think we will go down to rank # 8. I am predicting one loss against Ireland. Hope I am wrong!

If CT counts for ranking points, will definitely happen. The teams that BD will be facing, i'll be happy to take one win out of the four if that's even possible.

I hope weather doesn't interfere in our matches, but likely we will have a game washed-out somewhere. Bangladesh will actually find Ireland more tough than New Zealand on this tour.

It will be an utter humiliation if we can't whitewash Ireland and win the series convincingly.

Having said that I Won't be surprised at all if we screw up badly in this series.

Weather wise there are 6 games here plus two warm up games (Ireland XI vs NZ then BD).

I'd expect two rained off totally and two reduced overs.

But weather here is fickle, contrary to popular belief it actually is possible to fit in 5 plus games in 2 weeks with minimal weather interference, it just requires quick ground staff and a little luck. However on the other side it's also possible for there to be 1-2 weeks of consistent crap weather.

However in May weather here is generally fairly good (by our standards)
