This is an outstanding feature. I've been watching over the past few days as Nasif and Rajputra upgraded the forum and added some wonderful new features.

Thanks!

this is a great fiture and i already started to use it regularly. one more small piece of advice:

can the "posting guidelnes" be added under "board rules" menu bar? i think thats the right place for it. it probably would eliminate the need of another sticky post. or it can be kept in both places for easy visibility.

2nd, do u have to add the moving banner in the forum home page for the latest article and all? i don't know about other but i get instant headache. if someone else experience the problem, could it be changed to word slide stile? one line shows, fades away or just disappear and the full next lines shows up?

sorry if i'm being too picky.

You guys should consider either phpBB or invisionboard as an alternative to xmb forum; more features and rather efficient in my opinion... but I guess the mySQL database will cause you problems in the migration process, otherwise you could start afresh

Actually we have just upgraded to new version of XMB. We also did lot of modification to original XMB code to suit our needs for this forum. We don't have any plan to upgrade to phpBB or Invision board. XMB runs quite efficiently in our server and everyone is quite happy with it

Furthermore, XMB will be completely free public domain soon with GPL (GNU General Public License). So it will get much much better with time.

I personally think XMB is the best biased? may be, but thats just human

Actually, at one point BanglaCricket was facing total site shutdown from hosting company due to excessive CPU load from the message board. I looked for alternative on which message board puts the lowest load on the server.

Guess what? XMB comes second after vbulletin. Since vbulletin is expensive, XMB is the best option.

We dont plan to change from XMB to anything else unless one of our members buy us vbulletin.

What are the typical script execution times that you get with XMB?

It takes on average 0.28 - 0.38 seconds.

Alright well, theres no point of me arguing is there I have a bias towards InvisionBoard and the typical script execution time on another forum I visit (cannot be disclosed) is under 0.06 at most times.

[ Script Execution time: 0.0659 ]

Perhaps I am overlooking the fact that a larger mySQL database and a larger number of queries results in greater loads.

Anyways, whatever the case, this is a great forum

This has been once change to the upgrade that caught most of us unawares.

Go to:

Control Panel / Options » Edit Profile

Scroll down and you'll notice that there is a check box for "Save outgoing U2Us in your Outbox"

By default this is unchecked. Like you, I too thought my outbox wasn't working
