Afghans seem to have decent depth, the A team looks to be pretty good just like their firsts.

So the rest of the Afghan A scored 209 in 46 overs. With that many wickets in hand? Something is not adding up. The other guy scored a century?

I wonder if the other batsmen just blocked 100's of deliveries.
Well done I guess.

20 run victory by Aghanistan A,win series 3 nil with 2 games to go,the Zimbabwe A bowling line up was practically the firsts ZImbabwe bowling line up. All that was missing was Panyangarra,if he is fit.
The Logan cup has been postponed 3/4 times,so its a bit hard to follow their form.

This is a huge boost to Afghanistan's cricket.
They are winning with their A team, abroad.

Afghan A team is full of guys making their list A debuts...still 3-0 up on Zim in Zim.
Anything less than a 4-1 win for the Afghans in the ODI.series next month will be a disgrace.

The A team toured Sri Lanka and did pretty well against an emerging side.
I think they have toured Pakistan.
They 1 step ahead of Ireland and their A side.
Altho Bangladesh will play a warm up game against the Irish A side, you have 2 start somewhere I guess.

Right here after your statement, the duck emoji would have been apt.

The good thing is that these players are mainly picked from domestic cricket. Many of them never played for Afghanistan. There are additional 25-30 players in UAE training for The tour against Zim, so good dept in Afghan team.
Still don't know if the players are good or Zim Really bad.

Can't think of a non full member country ever being stronger than Afghanistan is right now, to me it would just look ridiculous if they don't get full status soon. Waiting years will potentially mean the boat will be missed, can't expect an associate to get this strong and stay this strong, this is the stage where icc needs to pump funds into the associate to ensure they can do what they need to to at least maintain this level with the obvious optimistic hope that they'll improve to the test level standard.
Look at other nations like Ireland, Scotland etc they've had strong periods and didn't get promoted and now they are getting weaker potentially never getting full status.
When an associate is this high icc needs to try and push them to the sky, the game needs to be expanded.
Cricket will suffer if we lose teams like Afghanistan.

Afghanistan won't ever be lost. They have everything in place.
A decent (by asian standards) administration? Yep.
Domestic structure? Yep (Like Ireland's has this will likely get FC/List A status very soon)
Massive fan following? Yep
Players? Yep = 200 full time cricketers in the country apparently, thousands more at lower levels. The country's poverty means that even a tiny wage is enough to make cricket a full time job.
Talent? Clearly, while the ages are a joke (Add 4-5 years to some I reckon) they keep producing talented players, and their batting has come on leaps and bounds
Coaches? Yep, just appointed Phil Simmons to assist
Genetics? Also yes, naturally they produce fast bowlers very easily.
There is zero doubt in Afghanistan's case, they will be a full member team, and in 10 years I reckon will easily be a top 8 side in each format. If they aren't a full member in 2 years I'd honestly be very surprised, especially since they'd have India's backing due to political reasons. (ACB would vote BCCI in every issue).
From my pov I'm hoping that in order to not upset the power balance currently the ICC will elevate 1 Asian and 1 European (us) to the top table to maintain the current voting balance, can't imagine ECB/CA/SA/NZCB would be happy with WI/ACB/SLCB/ZCB/BCB all being puppets of the BCCI on voting matters.
Course it all comes down to money as well. Thats the real issue. 2% of the big 3's budget being diverted to Ireland/Afghansitan would have such a massive impact on cricket there and make zero difference for the Big 3 but they're so greedy it likely won't happen
