This thread is for the die hard Himu fans. Discuss what you like, dislike about him or the tv natok renditions, or what you'd like to see in future Himu novels. =)

Couldn't agree more. He should have never gone into directing. He is a story teller on pen and paper; not on screen. His direction sucks big time.

^True that. His dramas suck so bad. Btw....the one i posted, some really funny moments, I nearly cried at the end for Tiklu, Deepu that douchebag's gf was kinda hot....Himu's gf's rant was funny. AND I HATE BANGLA SERIALS!
Last time I read a himu was ~11 years ago. I thought the author killed off the character (metaphorically). Surprised to see its still around. He should have ended it while it was good, instead of milking it thin.
himu was super in his first few years. he su*ks big time now!
btw Misir Ali is my fav character!

I didn't really follow Bangla natoks for a long time, and then started watching some here and there in the last couple of years. So I sort of jumped from the old 90's natoks (shot in BTV studio and all) to the modern "package" ones.
I don't really mind the plot or direction of the modern natoks which I've seen. To me, the main problem these days is all the terrible actors. Back in the 80's and 90's, you had some very good actors doing even minor roles. Now you have some seriously terrible actors doing major roles. যাকে তাকে নাটকে ঢুকায় দেয়...
Are drama theaters still popular in BD? A lot of good actors used to come out of them in the 90's...
^The most disturbing thing about today's Bangladeshi dramas is their language. It's abosolutely disgusting. Mustafa Sarwar Faruki is the main culprit behind this.

Humayun Ahmed has lost his touch completely. It seems the new novels (including the Himu and Misir Ali one's) are written by somebody else and not him!
Back in my Uni. days, I was influenced by Himu so much that I did a lot of challenging stuff. A friend of mine and myself walked from Tetulia to Teknaf (a nearly 1200 KM walk) in 28 days back in May-June 2002 (one of the events that was largely inspired by the fictional character Himu).
I didn't like the character Himu in the Bangladeshi natoks though (including the recent ones). Mosharrof Karim tried his best, but if I'm the producer/director, I'd never select him as Himu.

ya,right,at the begining I was kinda ok but now a days it seems annoying & exaggerating, and more than the language I hate their casting.
eventhgh there r some talented ones like Fahmi,Faruki himself,Rony but yet they hv lost the quality so badly.
